Lesllie Jordan! Tonight and tomorrow at the RBTA




Acclaimed Emmy Award winning comedian and actor Leslie Jordan hits the Rehoboth Beach Theatre of the Arts stage on September 11th and 12th, 2008.

At 8:00 PM on Thursday, September 11, 2008, and Friday, September 12, the Rehoboth Beach Theatre of the Arts at 20 Baltimore Avenue is proud to present the acclaimed, Emmy Award winning comedian Leslie Jordan as he performs his newest one-man show, My Trip Down the Pink Carpet, a hilarious, and sometimes moving, documentation from his trip from being a closeted boy in Chattanooga, to the "gayest man I know" in Holly¬wood, Calif..

Jordan won an Emmy as the caustic closet case Beverly Leslie on “Will & Grace” and became a cult icon through his role as Brother Boy in the film “Sordid Lives”. The diminutive actor with the distinctive Southern drawl has appeared in several other well known television programs such as "Hearts Afire," "Boston Legal," "Will & Grace" and more. Jordan also has two television projects in the can, one for Logo and another for HBO. For the LOGO network, he’ll reprise his Sordid Lives film role, “Brother Boy,” for “Sordid Lives: The Series” which also features Olivia Newton-John, Caroline Rhea, and Rue McClanahan.

While the actor normally maintains a hectic schedule, for now, Jordan’s one-man show is his primary focus. Frank about some of the darker paths he’s taken in life, including his past drug and alcohol addiction—and his subsequent sobriety—Jordan maintains the uncanny ability to spin his personal trials into comic genius. “Once I got into recovery – I’m 10 years sober from alcohol, and crystal meth was my big problem – around the recovery rooms we share, and there’s great power in that, with sitting with groups of people, and people that you trust,” he said. “That’s the way we stay sober, is we put it out there – we believe you’re only as sick as your secrets.”

The Rehoboth Beach Theatre of the Arts will present two performance of “My Trip Down the Pink Carpet” with each show beginning at 8:00 PM on Friday the 11th and Saturday the 12th. Tickets for this popular performance are moving quickly and reservations are suggested. Tickets cost $40.
